Microclimate

We cultivate the parcel ”Im großen Garten“ – a protected, relatively steep south-facing slope above the Eckbach Valley.

Origins

In 1495 known as ”uff den Burgweg“ pointing to one of the manifold castles in the region.

Soil

A heavy loess soil interspersed by a high number of small limestone rocks over limestone.  A similar soil to the one found in Côte d'Or.

Characteristic

Delicate aroma of ripe raspberries. Great mineralic depth, intense, long aftertaste. With  long ageing potential the wines frequently only peak after several years of cellaring.
